These policies and procedures set out the general admission requirements governing entry into LHE’s courses. Applicants should also consult the Course Handbook for Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Teaching as this sets out the course specific entrance requirements.

Please Note: submitting incomplete applications will delay processing until LHE can accurately assess or verify that the applicant meets the requirements for admission into the relevant course.  This may impact your preferred start date.

We may contact you by post, email or telephone, so it is important you complete all the sections on this form in full.

If you apply through an Education Agent (agent), please ensure your own contact details, including your email address, are also provided and these should be different to those of your agent.

Personal Information and Privacy

LHE is required under the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act to collect the following personal information from all international students applying to study in Australia:

·         Name

·         Date of birth

·         Gender

·         Residential address

·         Email address

·         Phone number

·         Country of birth

·         Nationality

·         Passport number, and

·         Course details  

This personal data will be recorded in the Provider Registration and International Student Management System (PRISMS) and made available to the Department of Education, Skills and Employment, Department of Home Affairs and other State / Territory government agencies in relation to administering the ESOS Act and the Migration Act 1958. This data may be used for any directly related purpose, or any other purpose required or authorised by law. Failure to provide this information will result in your application not being processed. Credit transfer is a process which allows students to seek recognition for previous studies completed after high school OR previous informal or non-formal learning. When we receive your credit / RPL application, we will compare the level and content of topics you have already completed with the curriculum and learning outcomes of the LHE course you are applying for.

COMPLETE ONLY IF YOU ARE SEEKING CREDIT FOR PRIOR STUDIES OR RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

Please provide certified copies of academic transcripts for the highest qualification you have received for courses of study relevant to the Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Teaching. Note: LHE will verify results with the issuing body. 

Previous study undertaken in English can be used to meet English Language Proficiency requirements (please refer to Admissions Procedure).

LHE undertakes additional pre-screening of international applicants against the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) “Genuine Student” (GS) requirements.  In preparation for this please provide responses to the questions below.

On an annual basis and as part of the enrolment process, you must agree to the Laurus Higher Education Enrolment Declaration. By agreeing to the declaration, you are acknowledging that you have read and understood its terms and you agree to be bound by LHE policies and understand your responsibilities as a LHE student.

LHE Policies and Procedures

1.   I understand that LHE policies and procedures may be amended from time to time, and I am responsible for regularly reviewing current policies, which can be found on the policies webpage www.lhe.edu.au

2.   I will act in accordance with all lawful instructions of officers of LHE.

3.   I consent to any work I submit for assessment being used by LHE for the purpose of identifying plagiarism and any other breach of academic integrity.

4.       I understand that falsification of records or details about myself, either before or after my enrolment, may lead to cancellation of my enrolment or imposition of other sanctions at any time during my studies at LHE.

Enrolment and Fees

5.       I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to choose units that will fulfil the requirements of my course as specified in the course rules and I will seek advice if unsure how to do this.

6.       I acknowledge that I will be permitted to enrol for a unit when I am still currently enrolled in one or more prerequisite units and, if I fail any prerequisite units, LHE will contact me to assist with changes to my enrolment.

7.       I acknowledge that, unless I withdraw from a unit prior to the census date, I will be liable for the relevant tuition fee and any other fees or charges applicable to my enrolment.

8.       I agree to be responsible for the payment of all tuition fees and any other compulsory fees related to my enrolment or graduation by the due date of each study period.

9.       I understand that the failure to comply with Clause 8 may result in my access to LHE services being cancelled or restricted, the cancellation of my enrolment and CoE and action being taken by LHE to recover the outstanding amounts.

My Personal Details

10.   I will promptly notify LHE of any change to my personal details (including address and phone contact details) within 7 working days of the change and acknowledge that a failure to do so will not be an acceptable reason for failing to respond to any correspondence from LHE as required.

Institution Communication and Notices

11.   I acknowledge that LHE correspondence, including formal notices and other communications, may be issued to me electronically via LMS announcements and/or via my student LHE email account, and I agree to check these announcements and LHE emails on each weekday during teaching and examination periods and at least weekly at other times during the year.

12.   I understand that LHE uses my student email account and LMS as its primary source of communication with students.

13.   I accept that LHE may use the mobile telephone number I provide to alert me via phone or message (Short Messaging Service, 'SMS') to matters relating to my attendance at LHE, in an emergency situation, or urgent matters relating to my enrolment.

Collection and Disclosure of my Information

14.   I agree that it is my responsibility to ensure all information and documentation supplied by me in relation to my enrolment at LHE is complete and correct.

15.   I understand that LHE may refuse, terminate, or otherwise vary my enrolment or any decision made in relation to my candidature at LHE on the basis of inaccurate, misleading or incomplete information.

16.   I agree that LHE relies on the accuracy of all information provided by me and is not responsible or liable for any errors arising out of inaccurate information provided by me.

17.   I consent to LHE using my personal information for any purpose it deems necessary to carry out its educational, administrative and operational functions.

18.   I understand that upon graduation, the details of my qualifications will become a matter of public record.

19.   I agree to the collection, storage and disclosure of information relating to record falsification and other irregular acts.

Acknowledgement

20.   I have read and understood this declaration and agree to the terms while I am a student, before, during and after my enrolment at LHE (as applicable).

21.   I acknowledge that LHE reserves the right to amend, update and repeal its rules and its policies from time to time and that these changes take effect from the date of publication (unless otherwise specified).

22.   I acknowledge that my failure to comply with this declaration once made may have consequences that impact my enrolment.
